The Fame Wall

By: SYBC Admin

In the yester year of being a artist. The ideal of being like a "craftsmen" was a common factor. Many artist, cartoonist, illustrators, and so on..Looked upon themselves as a craftsmen. Art was definitely a trade, that paid very well. Of course with the rise of photography, and the looming corporate behaviors that impede in these times, have done a number to kill that craftsmenship.

Now the rise of the "starving artist", and being famous has taken the artist craft for hostage. Those artist of the past was very famous. Some more famous than movie stars. Yet they were paid something of a nice living wage. In this time, the fame is now your paycheck. And that's not ok. Being a artist isn't something you just send off to the hobby table. Sure you can create art, as a hobby. You can build cars too for a hobby. Yet this profession is still a great paying job (despite the Tesla way of right to repair..). There will always be a demand for the artist "craftsman".

Of course it's easy to hit the easiest target in this culture issue. Social media is the poster child. This is where the tech industry has made everyone sacrifice the bigger internet for this very small pool of gated content. So naturally the result ends up with the anti-creative. So now art's value deminishes. So with the rise of AI, and the digital age giving the corporate class more advantages, making art as a profession becomes a redundant niche. So the stories begin of "Hollywood style" paydays get exposed. Where millions of dollars and more are lost to the creator. So now, you have to jump careers.

One of the bad side effects from Disney, and Andy Wahol's America. And it's a major one.

So now living for most people has eroded. But not as bad as the artist craft. Even with new advancements, the need for that craft will still be around. Somebody is gonna want that human touch. Art in America has convinced themselves that art has no value. And that the shiny conquest for name and treasure is the only value. The oil barron model of living. Something that pretty much died somewhere in the 1930's..Yet some embers kept burning. And now you have to work for free to scrape enough pennies to get a name worth being remembered. Something that was a bit different not that long ago. And with the amounts of access we're supposed to have, the corporate class still can take from the craftsmen artist and continue to be fed a well given life. Just like Berlin..Someday the wall needs to collaspe.
