AI And The Threat To Humanity The new wave of Artificial Intelligence has begun.
Good Evening! Welcome to the Schoolyard Aumtun Keynote of 2025. As you
know, it's no secret where the direction of tech is headed. AI, or Artificial Intelligence is quickly becoming a staple
within the toolkit of the current internet. And as Schoolyard enters it's 27th year, looking towards new directions always
tread interesting results.
However, make no mistake. This form of tech pushes us into a much different
frontier. These set of new tools will transform humanity forever from this point in time. Whatever you feel about the
authenticity of this toolkit, it's implications are very well dangerous to the essence of the human adventure.
We are in a time where technology can now truly break reality into bits and pieces.
Never to be put back together whole again.
For Schoolyard..Art and storytelling can be transformed forever. In which way that direction
blows, becomes up to the creator of said creation. And this is where the destruction begins it's feast. It does push art and it's creators
in a new era of distribution. How does the creator hold and share their creation? How do you maintain control and humility for this thing
I just brought to life?
To Schoolyard, that means one thing..Deconstruct the internet. As much as I can resist the "slop",
I will also continue to press the imagination of SYBC to it's best heights. That's not really a confirmation of using AI. What it means is to really
look out for the evolution of this toolkit. Not to stay behind. But to weaponize. We have to look at AI like a supply of nuclear arms.
Sounds very intense...But AI isn't a playground...It's a battlefield.
Warfare to be exact. In this age of mis-information, Artificial Intelligence is becoming the poster
child in a post intel world. Imagery that breeds representation, can also breed a grave danger. And this is where the treat begins. So...Do Schoolyard
just not partake in the AI toolkit? Or do we deeply dive into this next set of internet levers and pullies?
Some will say dive in. Most will say forget it.
Yet in war, you must have weapons. Taking AI into that account, Schoolyard must begin to build it's bombs.
So therefore, we will swim. But for a more informal purpose. You will see glimmers of these new found weapons. Yet don't sweat. The power of human work is
extremely important to Schoolyard, and it's committment to the imagination of storytelling, and it's visual culture.
As a matter of fact, you will begin to see new works from other creators (whew!) here in the very, very new
future! These new creators will continue to mission of victory and championing the good in story. Yet Schoolyard will also invest in the weaponizing of AI,
and the unfortunate power it's wielding.
Indeed, man and machine will continue to work together. Obviously, this means Schoolyard as well...But I do
believe in the human touch always. But I'm not that oblivous to not see where AI is heading. I've spoken about these toolkits, and their impact for a while
now. So I have to continue to accept it's reality in the scope of our humanity...Even with it's dangerous, life changing intents that some of it's "agents"
profess to unleash upon our planet. I know you may not understand how we plan on keeping a eye on our use of the toolkits. Rest assured, the plan is to utilize
it's tech in a defensive demeanor, to a point of keeping it's ways on a reserve position...Meaning, we'll be building the arsenal for the war that's brewing
outside.
So will you see these tools? Not really. Only when necessary. Because there's plenty of talent to go around and
cook up ideas without any machines. But you need to make sure you cover all spectrums at all cost. As for some other measures that affect the environmental
results...I introduce to you Schoolyard Iron. This section of Schoolyard will start to cover what Schoolyard means to community, and the world abroad. The
other keynote will go into more details. As for this subject matter, I will continue to mull over the influence of AI, and how to dissect it's functions. AI is
here, so Schoolyard has to be aware that it's around. In more ways than most, Schoolyard has to be very aware of it's dangerous presence...
